![]() These people are of every race, creed, and color and are from virtually every corner of the world. Over the course of the first ten years, more than 1,300 people who had a near-death experience spent many hours of their precious time answering over one hundred questions in NDERF’s detailed questionnaire. I expected to be successful in an endeavor, but as it has turned out, I have been wildly successful. With such a questionnaire, I could examine the individual elements in NDEs or an entire NDE itself. One of my goals for the site was to collect as many NDEs as I could and to collect them through a questionnaire that would make it easy to separate and study their elements. More than ten years later, in 1998, I started the Near Death Experience Research Foundation and its corresponding website,. ![]() ![]() It was several years later that I heard a friend’s wife tell of her own NDE when she nearly died of an allergic reaction while under general anesthetic. It was 1984 when I first stumbled upon the phrase near-death experience (NDE) in the pages of a medical journal. ![]()

Would have liked to see a page or two from Selena's perspective but since the narrator is really just Bark relaying his brother/best friend's death I get why. While we do get some revelations of who Selena could be, it was mostly treated as speculation that wasn't confirmed or denied until the very end. The story did feel like it stalled in the middle. You can find it and Wiliam Sloane's other novel in the collection "The Rim of Morning" by NYRB publishing. Other than a couple of references to outdated furniture or something I followed along quite well. His writing style is wonderfully refreshing in comparison to Lovecraft. Just read William Sloane's "To Walk the Night" and thought it was just ok. ![]() 5/22/2023 0 Comments Black water sister![]() ![]() The belief that spirits exist and the ghosts of our ancestors can still reach us. It’s difficult to pigeon-hole City of Pillars. He deftly puts the reader inside Mitchell Sinclair’s head for, this is his story. While it is often thought that a thriller needs lots of dialogue in order to be truly effective, Dominic Peloso, in City of Pillars, shows the beauty of narrative. As he flees the mysterious ‘men in black,’ Sinclair finds himself at times doubting his own sanity – or insanity. ![]() This ‘chance’ happening – or, so it seems at first – sets him on a journey that spans the globe, from San Francisco to Machu Picchu in Peru but, even more importantly, a journey into his own tortured consciousness. The package contains a sheaf of documents written in strange languages, and as Sinclair struggles to translate them, his life is turned inside out and upside down. He’s living what one would describe as ‘the good life,’ until one day, while crossing the Golden Gate Bridge on the way to his law firm, a strange toll booth collector tosses an even stranger package into his car. He has a good house in Marin County, north of San Francisco, a trophy wife, Sarah, and a shiny black 1958 Cadillac Sedan. Mitchell Sinclair is an up and coming young lawyer. The main character, Rictor, has chosen this side quest and found himself stuck in a video game that’s real, known as The Land. He’s lured humans into playing a video game, and if they accept a certain quest they get transported into his pocket dimension which is an exact replica of the video game. The prince of this court wants to escape his prison, but he knows he can’t do it on his own. This reads much like a typical “guy gets sucked into a video game” kind of story, except this video game is real, it’s a pocket dimension inhabited by demons of the Dark Court. I listened to the audiobook so my spelling may be wrong – Nick Podehl gave a fantastic performance, as usual. ![]() I read a lot of litrpg, so when I heard that Aleron Kong was “the father of litrpg”, I decided to give his books a try. ![]() ![]() ![]() We move you beyond anecdotes and guess work, to reach data-driven insights learned from the reality of space habitat operations. At best, others may be regarded as ignorant, unenlightened, and possessing only half-truths at worst, they are seen as destructive, dangerous, and possessed by evil spirits: they need to be overpowered for the good of humanity. The undeniable nature of our own goodness makes us think we are infallible there can be no wrong in us. Two: a refusal or incapacity to see or admit to any possible errors or faults in our group.
